Nestled on the Whale Route and bordering a pristine Biosphere Reserve, Natanya offers not just panoramic views of the ocean but also majestic mountain vistas, creating a perfect backdrop for your getaway. Ideal for families or groups, this luxurious retreat sleeps up to 10 guests, promising an unforgettable stay filled with nature, tranquility, and beauty.
Situated at the ocean’s edge, on the rocks overlooking the sea, against the magnificent backdrop of the Fynbos-clad Kogelberg Mountains, it’s easy to see why we named our beautiful holiday retreat Natanya – Hebrew for “God’s Gift”.
Your seaside sanctuary awaits!
Facilities
Kitchen & Courtyard
Our modern, fully-equipped kitchen is a food lover’s dream, featuring a large central island with prep bowl, gas hob and stove, an additional thermo-fan electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, and roomy fridge-freezer. Coffee lovers w
ill be pleased to find stove top espresso makers as well as French press coffee plungers aplenty.
There is also a separate, spacious utility room adjoining the kitchen with double kitchen sink, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer (and did we mention the jaw-dropping ocean view – making any washing up not taken care of by our su
per-efficient dishwasher an unexpected pleasure!).
lounge & office
The house also offers a dedicated, comfortable TV room with mini library, extra-long built-in couch (with plenty of cozy throws and cushions) and wood-burning fireplace.
A separate, sunny office overlooking the courtyard and mountain offers generous desk space. Here you’ll find a selection of board games. This is also the ideal spot for our guests who like to paint, and our artists easle is at your disposal for those moments when the urge to create comes upon you (as it is bound to at Natanya, with its abundance of natural beauty all around!). Louvered blinds allow you to control for just the right amount of light… so remember to pack your paints and brushes!
Bedrooms
Our bedrooms are all furnished and appointed with your comfort in mind, and boast 100% cotton bed linen, fluffy pillows (2 per guest), extra blankets and hot water bottles for the chilly winter months, luxurious bath towels, candles…
1 & 2) Downstairs, there are 2 double bedrooms en-suite:
- Our luxurious and spacious sea-facing master bedroom features a built-in king sized bed, private balcony, open-plan bathroom with generous jacuzzi bath, and shower (both with full sea views), and separate toilet. Be forewarned: this room is hard to leave!
- The downstairs mountain-facing bedroom offers a king sized bed (or twin 3/4 beds) with spacious en-suite bathroom and private outdoor shower. Our guests love taking a hot shower under the stars before climbing into bed after yet another day in paradise! This room leads out through double French doors onto a private courtyard with tranquil koi pond.
- Upstairs is a third double bedroom with open plan bathroom en-suite (bath and shower), and separate toilet. Double French doors open onto a generous private deck with breathtaking mountain and sea views to either side. A cafe table, chairs and umbrella make this the perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee…
- One smaller, comfortable bedroom upstairs, with twin 3/4 beds.
- Another smaller, comfortable bedroom upstairs, with twin 3/4 beds, complete Natanya’s sleeping quarters.
There is also a separate guest loo downstairs (with toilet and hand basin).
deck & fire pit
On the other side of the open plan living space, concertina sliding glass doors open onto a generous sea-facing deck, offering sun loungers, a large parasol, comfy tub chairs, and Weber. The deck also features an extra long dining table for those lazy lunches which merge into sundowners which become star-spangled, balmy, candle-lit dinners…
And, speaking of star-spangled nights, our guests can now enjoy the magic of long evenings spent around a crackling bonfire under the moon and Milky Way with our newly-built fire pit overlooking the sea. Here is where the best holiday memories are made: of fireflies, toasted marshmallows and laughter shared…
Garden
Finally, our large, lawned garden overlooking the sea is great for little ones wanting to romp and play, while children of all ages will enjoy impromptu games of soccer, rugby, boulle, beach bats and cricket on the lawn till the sun goes down (which, in summer, is late into the evening). The rocks in front of the house offer hours of diversion for explorers young and old. And – last but very much not least – just a short amble over the rocks from the house you’ll find “The Gully” – a deep tidal rock pool offering our guests the chance to cool off with an exhilarating ocean plunge. This is a perennial favorite swimming spot for all who know Natanya’s secrets!
